This story was drawn on July 19, 2003, at the Art Beat Festival in Somerville's Davis Square. Jef Czekaj and Heath Row manned the table with me, and we got a huge, enthusiastic, and diverse gang of scribblers together to create a tale of action, romance, comedy, science fiction, and high seas adventure (well, cereal bowl adventure).

As the sun burns off the morning clouds, Emily draws the first panel of a story that we really could never have imagined...

A few brave pioneers begin to gather at the table, drawing their own parts of the story...

... and soon a swarming mass of story-tellers are creating evil flowers, flying horses, artistic turtles, and, of course, produce pirates, among other things... read the story!
